Sculptor David Haradin

SCULPTOR IN RESIDENCE, GALLERY 212 MIAMI

The intense popularity of Haradin sculptures at Gallery 212 Miami makes room for his newest works

“To experience my work in the elements through the seasons is a study of simplicity interacting with the environment, an inter-play of grace, joy, sensuality, violence; a tactile sublime experience.”David Haradin

David grew up in Pittsburgh and studied architecture and fine art at the College of Environmental Design at the University of Colorado, Boulder.   He creates art with a goal to understand the environmental patterns of creatures and aims to evoke that in his sculpture. In 1989, David won first place at the University’s outdoor sculpture competition with his first large-scale installation. This success drove him to pursue his love of art and the outdoors by sticking to the earth’s natural inspiration.

Expressing a deep connection with nature, David Haradin captures the movement and flow of sea creatures with spectacular steel sculptures. Studying the outdoors has allowed him to understand the purposeful movement of natural creatures. His works of art are made from steel and have been molded piece by piece. His underwater creations come to life!  When you see them in person they speak for themselves in beauty and artistic presence.

Did you know that David Haradin’s hanging sculptures are on the move? Literally, they are ergonomic, kinetic; meant to shift in the breeze and delight the eye.  This most recent addition to his work on exhibit, Red Fish, features a beautiful, brightly colored sculpture that represents the artist’s ability to recreate any of his natural pieces based on size and an array of custom colors for clients to choose from.  With brightly colored fins and moving parts the mobiles satisfy the yearning of many a contemporary collector for COLOR!  The traditional, rustic appeal of his original and raw steel pieces can still be found in his beloved gigantic whale tale or large hanging birds in exhibition.  Weather-resistant and with strength in natural artistic presence; the pieces of the collection are perfectly suited for adornment of the home, whether hanging from a vaulted ceiling or as a conversation piece outside by the pool. Whichever you prefer – beauty is in the (fish)eye of the beholder.

Haradin’s newest addition to the exhibition are his pop-fish.

David currently works in both Florida and Colorado and has had exhibitions in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Colorado, and Florida. Some of his sculptures are presently showing in galleries in Taos, New Mexico and St. Augustine, Florida.
